Importance of Posture During Meditation
Whether seeking enlightenment or just boosting your mental health, proper body posture is the first step to getting the most out of your meditation. Note that sitting in a cross-legged position is not the only way to meditate. If you get the details right, you can meditate in different positions including sitting, standing, and lying down.

The keys to proper meditation posture are:
Spine: Upright, not slouched but slightly curving the lower back
Shoulder: Allow it to drop down so that the chest is open. This will make breathing easier.
Chin: Tuck your chin slightly and relax your jaw.
Hands: You can do mudras simply rest your hand somewhere comfortable for you.
